Viktor Kolar graduated from the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague. As a part of his studies, he perfected his knowledge of business law during a six-months study stay in the United States (Hennepin Technical College in Minnesota) and a one-year scholarship at the University of Zaragoza in Spain where he also improved his specialization in European community law.

After graduating, he worked for more than five years in the Prague office of the international renowned law firm WEIL, GOTSHAL & MANGES. He provided legal services to prominent clients, among others, in the area of power engineering, railway transportation, infrastructure construction, and lease of real property.

In the past, he participated, first of all, in the provision of legal consultancy in the area of dispute resolution, particularly in judicial and administrative proceedings including review procedures before administrative courts concerning legal actions against decisions and unlawful procedure of public administration authorities, and proceedings before the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic on the constitutional petitions.

Viktor has extensive experience in the area of dispute resolution, representing his clients (plaintiffs and defendants alike) in legally and technically complicated cases before Czech courts of law. As far as dispute resolution is concerned, Viktor also focuses on alternative solutions and conciliation.

Apart from dispute resolution Viktor has broad experience in criminal court matters representing defendants, as well as injured persons.

Viktor has also participated in a number of cases in the administration of various types of tender procedures for the award of public contracts, the inspection of the processes of the contracting authorities, representing contractors in objection procedures, administrative proceedings before the Office for the Protection of Competition, as well as in subsequent disputes before administrative courts.

Last but not least, Viktor also focuses on contract law. He has prepared and revised a number of civil and commercial contracts for prominent clients, particularly contracts for work, purchase, donation, and lease agreements, pledge agreements, service contracts, agency contracts, license agreements and many others.
